Sludge thickening before dewatering
The unit combines a flocculation tank, a screw filtration assembly, a filtrate collection tank and electrical controls. Conditioned sludge moves along the screw while filtrate drains through the gaps between fixed and moving rings. Movement of the rings helps keep these gaps clear.
Typical duties include pre-thickening ahead of filter presses or other advanced sludge-dewatering equipment, and projects considering an alternative to a conventional sludge-thickening tank. This is a thickener, not a final cake-dewatering press.
Catalogue reference range
- Inlet solids content: 0.2%–5%
- Outlet solids content: 4%–10%
These are supplier catalogue ranges, not guaranteed results for every sludge. Capacity, polymer demand and achievable outlet solids require confirmation using representative sludge data or trials.
