Engineering That Fixes Real Problems: 4 Pretreatment Upgrade Cases That Made a Difference

Four published application examples showing how screening choices address different plant and pump station conditions.

Pretreatment upgrade examples featured by G-LINK

Xi’an No.4 Wastewater Treatment Plant

Equipment installed: Inward-Flow Plate-Type Fine Screen (Centrefilte Band Screen).

Equipment function: High-precision fine screening (1–5 mm), preventing fibers, plastics and hair from entering downstream biological and sludge systems. Increases interception efficiency and stabilizes overall plant operation.

Commissioning: 2021
Plant treatment capacity: 500,000 m³/day.

Xi’an No.6 Reclaimed Water Plant

Equipment installed: Inward-Flow Plate-Type Fine Screen.

Equipment function: Ultra-fine screening under high-reuse and high-quality effluent requirements. Removes fine solids and fibers to protect downstream filtration units.

Commissioning: 2021
Treatment capacity: 400,000 m³/day.

Xianyu River Wastewater Treatment Plant

Equipment installed: Inward-Flow Super Mesh Screen (Centrefilte-HC).

Equipment function: High-capacity fine screening under complex inlet conditions—large debris load, fluctuating flow and limited civil space. The original case reports that super mesh panels increased hydraulic capacity by nearly 3×.

Commissioning: 2023
Plant treatment capacity: 200,000 m³/day.

Yixing Cangpu Pump Station

Equipment installed: Inward-Flow Rake-Type Bar Screen (Centrefilte Bar Screen).

Equipment function: Replaced failed grinder screens; prevents pump clogging, stabilizes pump station operation and ensures continuous flow.

Commissioning: 2023
Daily design capacity: 80,000 m³/day
Actual capacity: 35,000–40,000 m³/day.
