Repeated Dewatering-Equipment Delays: Finding the Real Blocker

A delayed order called for an investigation of production readiness, not another promised shipping date.

The challenge

A client needed dewatering equipment, but repeated delays from the original supplier were affecting the client’s commitments to its own customer. The client asked us to help resolve the situation.

What the review focused on

The investigation identified difficulty obtaining the components needed for production. Rather than repeat the promised delivery date, the next step was to identify an alternative manufacturer that could meet the technical requirements.

What transfers to another project

  • Check whether critical components are ordered and available.
  • Link progress reports to specific production milestones.
  • Review technical suitability and production readiness together before changing manufacturers.

The outcome

We identified an alternative manufacturer that met the technical requirements, checked the equipment in person before delivery, and the replacement machine arrived on time. Client and manufacturer identities remain confidential.
