Progressive cavity sludge feed
A rotating screw rotor and elastomer stator form cavities that convey sludge toward the discharge. The catalogue includes horizontal direct-coupled and bearing-seat arrangements; hopper-fed alternatives are available for less free-flowing material.
Selection must consider solids content, particle size, viscosity, abrasiveness and required pressure. Confirm rotor/stator materials, shaft sealing, drive speed and dry-running and pressure protection for the duty. Catalogue maximum flow and pressure figures describe different configurations and are not a single operating point.
Choose the feed arrangement
- WB: horizontal direct-coupled arrangement.
- WS: horizontal bearing-seat arrangement.
- WSN: hopper feed for material with poor flow.
- WSP: hopper feed with a bridge-breaking arrangement.
Match the pump to the sludge
Confirm required flow and differential pressure together, then select speed, rotor/stator materials and shaft seal for solids, viscosity, temperature and chemical compatibility. Dry-running protection and pressure protection should be reviewed with the installation.
